In the wake of the recent COVID-19, the UBC Musical Theatre Troupe has decided to cancel our upcoming production of Chicago. The new restrictions imposed by the BC government ban gatherings of over 50 people, which has made accommodating our own production members impossible, let alone patrons. It is with a heavy heart that we make this decision and we would like to recognize the significant work and care that has been put into the overall production up to this point by every single production member.
At this time we felt it was necessary to take cues from surrounding UBC and Greater Vancouver theatre companies as well as the BC government and examine the detrimental effects that hosting this event could have on our community. It is important to prioritize the mental and physical health of our members and patrons under these unique circumstances.
For ticket holders, we will be issuing an additional statement on how to receive reimbursement for your tickets via emails collected on our Showpass. Thank you in advance for your grace and patience with us through this process.
If you have any questions or concerns the UBC Musical Theatre Troupe president is on standby to answer them, you can reach Paige at email@example.com. We hope to have the opportunity to see you at future performances and events, and please keep well.
All the best,
UBC MTT Executive Team
